Pierrel is an Italian pharmaceutical company with over 70 years of experience in the oral health industry its products are marketed in most global markets.
Our legal and operational headquarters are in Capua (CE). Our core business focuses on the
registration and commercialization of our dental anesthetics. The production facility was authorized
by the EMA (European Medicines Agency) in 1989 and by the FDA (Food and Drug
Administration) in 2009 for the aseptic production of injectable drugs.
With over 70 years of
experience, Pierrel is one of the leading producers of dental anesthetics marketed under its own
brands: Orabloc®, Ubisestin™, Xylestesin™, and Mepivastesin™; authorized by major
international drug regulatory agencies and available in most global markets. Our specialization in
the dental sector also extends to the research, development, and distribution of medical devices.

OUR MILESTONES
1948
The Lepetit Group founded the pharmaceutical chemical company Pierrel, dedicated to the production of antibiotics and vitamins. The name comes from the sequence pronunciation of the initials of "Prodotti Roberto Lepetit".
1975
Starts the production of pharmaceutical specialties and medical devices.
1985
The production of local-regional anesthetics in vials and bottles is started. We are the first in Italy to produce anesthetics in cartriges.
1985-1990
Our Research and Development department in Capua develops the formula of toothpaste AZ, a Pierrel product that is very successful thanks to the frequent advertising on national television networks. In these years we are engaged in the production of food supplements (Gimille, Gravigen, Generman) and shampoo (Diesse).
1990
Pierrel sells its brad AZ to Procter & Gamble
1995
Astrazeneca becomes the main customer of the production site.
1999
Dentsply chooses our Capua site for the production of dental anesthetics for Europe, UK and Australia markets
2006
We are landing on the first list (MTA) of Borsa Italiana today called Euronext Milan.
2009
Our production site obtains the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) authorization.
2011
Under the Pierrel brand, we start the registration and marketing of dental anaesthetics. Orabloc is launched on the American market
2018
It is the year of the launch in the USA, Canada, UK and Italy of the medical device Goccles.
2019
Works begins on the production site to increase the production capacity.
2021
Unveiling of the new Inspection and Labelling department.
2021
From the brand Orabloc comes a new medical device, Orabloc Needlestick Safety System.
2022
Orabloc dental Needles are distributed in the U.S.
2023
A new medical device, Ubigel Inperio, was launched.
Pierrel acquired the dental anesthetics portfolio from American 3M.
